SAHA – Fair Avenue Apartments

As a portion of the San Antonio Housing Authority’s (SAHA) program, this eleven-story structure contains 216 apartments to house elderly and disabled residents. The primary scope was to install a modern fire sprinkler and alarm system throughout the building along with associated trades for drywall, electrical, etc. Built-in 1971, both asbestos and lead paint were present.  An alternative method of drilling in asbestos areas was utilized to avoid the time and expense of creating a negative air environment. Construction was performed in phases allowing the facility to remain fully occupied without displacing any residents.
